Heigh ho, reader! It's me, DB and I'm back to bring you my Top 10 Favorite Muppets Songs list! This list features songs from a variety of Muppet movies and TV shows. Here goes:
10. Put Down the Ducky - Sesame Street: I loved watching Sesame Street when I was just a toddler and the song that I can still remember from those days was this one. Ernie had to do what the song said if he wanted to play his saxophone! Still a catchy tune!
9. Cabin Fever - Muppets Treasure Island: This one took place during the Muppets version of the classic Treasure Island story, where the crew of the ship got cabin fever!
8. Hey a Movie! - Great Muppet Caper: This one was a catchy tune that told us what the Great Muppet Caper will have in the movie without spoiling the plot! Still a cool song!
7. Theme from The Muppet Show: Who could forget this classic tune! Better yet, who could forget this classic show! This show had penguins playing orchestra music, a celebrity guest star, and Miss Piggy's Pigs in Space! This tune became the unforgettable intro to that classic show!
6. Marley and Marley - Muppet Christmas Carol: A Statler and Waldorf classic! The hagglers play Scrooge's partners Jacob and Robert Marley in the Muppet version of this classic Christmas tale. In the song, both the Marley's told about what they did wrong and told Scrooge how he can avoid the fate given to both the Marley's.
5. Mah na Mah na - Muppet Show: Another Muppet Show great! This song is still recognized by Muppets fans alike, especially the chorus of the song! Do do do do do!
4. One More Sleep Till Christmas - Muppet Christmas Carol: In this Kermit classic, Kermit sings about joy of Christmas being one more sleep away! I even liked the Penguins sliding party in the movie during the song!
3. Movin Right Along: Muppet Movie (1979) - A song about the Muppets movin their journey along? Yes, please! This song was sung by Kermit and Fozzy about their journey to LA!
2. Rainbow Connection - Muppet Movie (1979): You can't have a Top 10 Muppet Song list without this epic song! This song is still revered to be among the greatest Muppet songs ever recorded! It was nominated for Best Original Song and it reached Number 25 on Billboard's Hot 100!
1. Bless Us All - Muppet Christmas Carol: My personal favorite! This song was performed by Kermit's nephew, Robin, who played Tiny Tim. This song really did touch my heart! It's a nice, slow song, but it's not one of those mushy slow love songs. This song talks about the importance of family and what better time to come together as a family then Christmas! Of course, there are other important times to come together as a family too!
Honorable Mentions:
Can You Picture That? - Muppet Movie (1979)
Together Again - Muppets Take Manhatten
Bein' Green - Sesame Street
