Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V vs the earlier series

So, if you've been watch Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V, like me, you're probably up to speed as to what's going on right now. There's a war going on between different dimensions in the Arc V universe. The most intriguing thing about those dimensions are the names and styles of the dimensions.

Yes, each name of each dimension is centered around a different form of Summoning monsters in the Duel Monsters game (ie fusion, Xyz, Synchro, etc). And each location style of each dimension is based off the Yu-Gi-Oh series in which each Summoning first formed.

For example, the Fusion dimension has a place called Academia, which looks a lot like Duel Academy from GX if it was overrun by Obelisk Blue. That's just an example of what a dimension looks like in the Arc V series.

And that got me thinking. What if the characters from each of those dimensions took on the main characters from each of the series that inspired each of those said dimensions in special duels?

Let's find out. First, I'll talk about the Synchros.

If the Synchro duelist from Arc V dueled Yusei Futo, the main duelist from Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's (where Synchro monsters was first introduced to the game), who would win?

First off, let's look at both the duelist's key cards in their respective decks. The Arc V duelist has Clear Wing Synchro Dragon (coming out in Crossover Souls btw) and Yusei has Stardust Dragon. Clear Wing would have advantage because of it's effect, allowing it to negate Stardust's remove-from-play effect and destroying it in the process and gain it's ATK.

But, if Yusei got out Shooting Star Dragon, perhaps instead of Stardust, it could cancel Clear Wings effect and destroy it.

The reason is this: Clear Wing's effect would normally negate a Level 5 or higher monster's effect, like Stardust Dragon's, and destroy it, but if Shooting Star Dragon was out on Yusei's side of the field, and if it's not Yusei's turn, he can then counter Clear Wing's effect with Shooting Star's effect and destroy Clear Wing.

Now that we've taken a look at both Duelist's key cards, I pose the question again. Who would win?

I think it depends on what cards are played. Based on what I wrote earlier, if Yusei would play Stardust vs the Synchro Duelist's Clear Wing, Yusei would lose. But, if Yusei played Shooting Star instead, he'd win. What do you think?

Also, did you noticed that the Synchro Duelist was riding a Duel Runner? Could that possibly mean that the Synchro Dimension is based off Satellite or New Domino City from 5D's?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I'll be talking about Fusion in the next post. See ya!

MLB needs replay!

Ok, let's say you're at a baseball game. The batter hits into a double play, but the pitcher catches the relay throw from the second baseman. However the umpire STILL calls the runner out! I just described a real play from the Texas-Seattle game just the other day. If the umpires at that game had gone to use instant replay on that play, that runner would've been safe. My point? MLB NEEDS INSTANT REPLAY! The NFL and NBA both use it on questionable calls, so why doesn't the MLB? The MLB does use it on home run calls, so why not expand it? Maybe they can try what the NFL does and give the managers some sort of "challenges" to use on a blown call. All the umps would need to do is: 1. Get together in their replay room 2. Take 30 seconds to look at the play in question 3. Return to the field to make the correct call In fact, I think that's what ALL sports should do, not just MLB.  All the refs need to do is take a few seconds to look at the play and make t...
