Howdy!

Hey all.  My name is Dave "Elvis", and this is first Blogger.com blog.  Here, I will post what I think about anything, from movies to sports to maybe even comics.

For my first blog, I will post what I think are the top 10 movies for the year 2011.

1.  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 2.  They saved the best for last. I've been a fan of the Potter movies for some time, and I definitely enjoyed this one.

2.  Captain America-The First Avenger.  I agree with my dad in saying the 3D for this movie was great! Chris Evans did a good job protraying the Star Spangled Avenger.

3.  Green Lantern.  In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night, This movie did not escape my sight! Let those who worship GL's might, come see this movie, it's outta sight!

4.  X-Men: First Class. A definite Marvel hit! The early days of the X-Men are explored, from the first students to Xavier and Magneto's rivalry being born!

5.  Transforers: Dark of the Moon. Michael Bay and Steven Speilburg (again, excuse my spelling) did it again. Another victory for this duo!

6.  Pirates of the Caribbean-On Stranger Tides. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirates life for me! Capt. Jack Sparrow is at it again, and this time, Penelope Cruz is on board!

7.  Yu-Gi-Oh 3D: Bonds Beyond Time. For those that enjoy watching the Yu-Gi-Oh series, or for those that enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh in general, this movie is one to watch, especially in 3D!

8. Cars 2.  Lightning McQueen and Mater are back in a movie that I think was like "Mater's Tall Tales", except unlke the stories of all the shorts, this one really happened! Oh, and Michael Cain is in it!

9.  Source Code. Not as action-y as Transformers, but still a good mystery thriller.  And the technology used in the story could be used soon here in the real world.

10. Thor.  Gotta give the God of Thunder a nod.

So, that's my top 10 movies for this year.  What's yours?

MLB needs replay!

Ok, let's say you're at a baseball game. The batter hits into a double play, but the pitcher catches the relay throw from the second baseman. However the umpire STILL calls the runner out! I just described a real play from the Texas-Seattle game just the other day. If the umpires at that game had gone to use instant replay on that play, that runner would've been safe. My point? MLB NEEDS INSTANT REPLAY! The NFL and NBA both use it on questionable calls, so why doesn't the MLB? The MLB does use it on home run calls, so why not expand it? Maybe they can try what the NFL does and give the managers some sort of "challenges" to use on a blown call. All the umps would need to do is: 1. Get together in their replay room 2. Take 30 seconds to look at the play in question 3. Return to the field to make the correct call In fact, I think that's what ALL sports should do, not just MLB.  All the refs need to do is take a few seconds to look at the play and make t...
